
District champions were crowned in six divisions of the 37th annual Elks Hoops Shoot free throw contest. The district finals were held Saturday in Yankton. District champions, who will advance to the state finals in Pierre, include (front row) MacKenzie Foxhoven of Crofton, Neb. (girls’ 8-9), Allison Tramp of Crofton (girls’ 10-11), Tiffany Tramp of Crofton (girls’ 12-13), Trey King of Irene (boys’ 8-9), Brady Sorenson of Yankton (boys’ 10-11) and Mitchell Gullikson of Yankton (boys’ 12-13). Runner-ups (second row) include Haleigh Melstad (girls’ 8-9), Duana Lee of Centerville (girls’ 10-11), Josie Huber of Wakonda (girls’ 12-13), Caid Koletzky of Yankton (boys’ 8-9), Brock Mueller of Crofton (boys’ 10-11) and Jack Huether of Volin (boys’ 12-13). Third place finishers (back), include Haley Arens of Crofton (girls’ 8-9), Becky Frick of Yankton (girls’ 10-11), Morgan Tessier of Yankton (girls’ 12-13), Chase Zimmerman (boys’ 8-9), Jackson Diede of Menno (boys’ 10-11) and Paul Fanta of Yankton (boys’ 12-13). Tiffany Tramp was the overall champion for the district, hitting 18 of 25 attempts.
